Let’s go to Jackson Hole!

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

I like to say, go for the skiing and stay because, well, it may be the cutest little town out west!!  (or one of them).  My husband and I spontaneously decided to take this trip for our anniversary in February.

We had never been and I’m one of those people that really likes to know the lay of the land (ski trails, restaurants, you know, all of the  important things) before I go.  So I dug in and did my research.  We wanted to stay close to the main ski area, so we chose Teton Village.  Hindsight, I may have chosen in the town of Jackson and a shuttle to the ski area.

We stayed at Hotel Terra.  It was amazing and had an amazing restaurant downstairs.  There are definitely things to do by the mountain during the day and evening, but he action was in the town of Jackson.  We LOVED this little town.  Great food, great bars, great shops and great scenery!

We were only taking this trip for four nights.  On our fourth night, we received a text from our airline that because of the Snow storms throughout the US, our flight had been canceled and would leave 3 days later.  Yes, I said 3 days later.

Sooooo, I’m totally a planner and this set me back for a minute.  Then we decided to make the move into town, ski another ski area and make the most of it.  We then moved to Snow King Mountain in Jackson.  This move allowed us to try skiing something different and to walk to anything else we did.  We got the best of both worlds.

Tips:

If you are going to ski, try to avoid President’s Day weekend.  It was super crowded.  However, the skiing is amazing and challenging with an enormous amount of terrain to explore.

Jackson Drug (Yes, this is a delicious restaurant)

Million Dollar Cowboy Bar  (A MUST SEE)

This place is so fun with live music at night.  It reminds me of what the Old West would’ve been.  A great place to be entertained.

Overall, Jackson Hole is a “don’t miss” whether it is in the winter for skiing or in the summer for warmer adventures.  It has a plethora of amazing restaurants, shops and activities for all ages.  I just talked about the places I have stayed, but there are many AirBNB’s and VRBO’s in the area as well.  The town is walkable and friendly and you will leave knowing you just HAVE to go back!!
